Official Police Garages (OPGs) are the official towing partner of the City of Los Angeles, providing safe, reliable and cost-efficient impounding, towing and storage of vehicles, 24 hours a day. For more than 70 years, OPGs have facilitated the flow of traffic along major City streets, calming traffic within residential neighborhoods and mitigating the traffic impact associated with new developments. Ultimately, OPGs help keep Los Angeles and Angelenos moving.
Has your vehicle been towed or impounded? All vehicles impounded by the City of Los Angeles and towed by an authorized Los Angeles Official Police Garage are uploaded to the Vehicle Information Impound Center (VIIC) within one hour. Search the OPGLA Database to locate your vehicle by clicking the button below.
You will be redirected immediately to the OPGVIIC.com website. Have your vehicle license number and state of registration, or vehicle identification number (VIN) ready.
OPGs regularly hold Lien Sales Auctions. These are open to the public. All vehicles are sold “AS IS, WHERE IS” and with all faults. Seller makes no warranty or refunds.
Vehicles are sold in an open competitive bid auction. The highest bidder is the buyer. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid or stop the sale of a vehicle. In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer’s decision will be final.
